Media personality Kofi Adoma Nwanwani has broken his silence on a recent incident that has affected his eye, stating that he is sharing his story now because he fears it may soon be too late.
Speaking during an emergency meeting to clarify details of the tragic event in December 2024 and provide an update on his recovery, he addressed growing speculation and concerns surrounding the incident.
Kofi Adoma was covering the Dormaa Kwafie festival in the Bono Region when he was accidentally shot in the face with a musket. The injury severely damaged his eyes, requiring multiple surgeries.
Despite battling severe headaches, he felt compelled to share his side of the story. Reflecting on the ordeal, he expressed gratitude for a second chance at life but stressed the urgency of speaking out before the future becomes uncertain.
He also acknowledged how close he came to tragedy, moved by the realization that the gathering could have been for his funeral.
“As I speak to you, my head aches so badly. I have decided to speak before whatever is meant to happen, happens. At least, if I am able to speak before what is meant to happen occurs, I would have opened up already because the narratives I heard about me on the incident were disheartening.”
“When I cast a look at the number of people gathered here, all I said to myself was that this could have been my funeral. I recently heard that a similar incident occurred at Nungua where the victim passed. All I said was, God loves me,” he said.
