The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo-Prampram and Minister for Communications, Digitalisation, and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has secured a commitment from the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) to address the worsening water crisis in his constituency.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, March 16, Mr. George expressed deep concern over the “extremely critical” water situation in the Ningo and Prampram areas, which has worsened in recent weeks.
Mr. George shared that he had engaged with the new Managing Director of GWCL on Saturday, who provided firm assurances that water supply would improve starting Tuesday. “Yesterday, I got firm assurances from the new MD of the Ghana Water Company Ltd that by Tuesday, we should see some improvement in water supply, continuing through the end of the week,” he stated.
Additionally, Mr. George revealed that the GWCL Managing Director had promised to visit the constituency in person during the week to assess the situation firsthand.
In the interim, Mr. George committed to supporting residents through water tanker deliveries to alleviate the burden on those most affected by the crisis.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Greater Accra Regional Minister for his intervention in addressing the issue.
