
Six people have lost their lives in a deadly road crash at Adansi Dompoase near the new ECG office, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed.
According to a statement from the Ashanti Regional Public Relations Office, the GNFS received a distress call at 12:43 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, and quickly deployed a rescue team to the scene.
Led by ADOII Samuel Mensah, rescuers arrived to find a collision involving a VIP bus (registration GW 8455-23) and a Benz Sprinter (registration GS 6383-20).
The Sprinter was found completely mangled from the rear, while the VIP bus sustained partial damage to its front.
Rescue operations concluded by 1:28 p.m., with six deceased victims handed over to the police. One injured passenger was rushed to the Fomena Government Hospital for emergency treatment.
The GNFS says investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
